Harold Humphrey Stobbs

Harold Humphrey Stobbs, late of Brancepeth, SK passed away on November 3, 2013 in Prince Albert, SK surrounded by his family, at the age of 85 years. Harold was born in Birch Hills, SK on May 16th, 1928. He attended Derby School south of Brancepeth. After his schooling he started as a farmhand near Wolesley, SK, he also delivered fuel for Imperial Oil in Brancepeth. On February 25, 1950 he married Esther (nee Ravndahl). Harold started his grain buying career for National Grain (Cargill) in 1950 and retired in 1988. He never stopped farming throughout this career. During the course of his life, he was the Chairman for the Hamlet Board of Brancepeth, Brancepeth School Trustee and a St. Mary’s Anglican Church warden. Harold was a people person who took great pride in everything he did and loved the lighter side of life, especially teasing people. He loved his wife and children and his grandchildren were his pride and joy. Harold will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 63 years: Esther Stobbs; his children: David (Janet), Donald (Candice), Teddie (Linda) and Joanne (Larry); his grandchildren: Corey, Laurie, Trevor , Meghan, Hayley, Jenna, Ryan, Adena, Patrick, Brandon, Kristy, Courtney, Teena and Dean; his great-grandchildren: Shelton, Justin, Andrew, Jessica, Kolbie, Madden, Kiana, Keagan and Carter; his brother: John Roy Stobbs (Shirley); his sister-in-law: Bernice Cleghorn (Doug); his brother-in-law: Stan Ravndahl (Pat), as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Harold was predeceased by his parents: John Thomas & Blanche (nee Young) Stobbs; his siblings and their spouses: Verda & Larry Gilmore, Jim & Dorothy Stobbs, Lloyd & Enid Stobbs, Floyd Stobbs and Catherine & Bob Braaten; his granddaughter: Tracy Stobbs; his father and mother-in-law: Thorvald & Olava Ravndahl; his brothers and sisters-in-law: Thorstien & Mae Ravndahl, Johanna & Earl Jarvis and Ingfrid & Tiff Carriere. In lieu of other tributes, the family requests donations may be made to Dr. Ali Rajput Endowment for Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders Research, Royal Univeristy Hospital Foundation, 103 Hospital Drive, Saskatoon, SK S7N 0W8 www.ruhf.org. A Private Family Prayer Service will be held. A Public Celebration of Harold’s life will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2013 – 3:00 pm, Brancepeth Community Hall, Brancepeth, SK with Rev.
