Brian Charles Woodward
October 22, 1952 – November 23, 2013
Brian Woodward of Prince Albert, SK passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 23, 2013 with his loving family by his side. After many years of suffering with illness, he slowly lost the strength to carry on. Brian was born on October 22, 1952 in Niagara Falls, ON to Barbara and Robert Woodward. He had one brother and two half brothers. After completing high school he studied Journalism for a year and then went on to realize his true childhood dream of becoming a member of the RCMP. In his 31 years of dedicated service, he was posted in Moose Jaw, Hudson Bay, Wynyard, Ponteix and Rosthern. He retired as a Corporal and spent his final years in Prince Albert. At 6 foot 2 and 200 lbs Brian looked rough and intimidating while on duty, but in his private home life he was a quiet gentle man … a big “Teddy Bear”. His love for his family came first and his girls (wife and daughters) had him wrapped around their fingers. His world was complete when he welcomed his three son-in-laws; his one grandson and five little granddaughters. He loved being a grandparent, in turn his grandchildren loved him. He loved sports especially hockey and baseball, was Toronto Maple Leafs biggest fan, loved music mostly “the oldies” and loved to cook and will be remembered for his spaghetti sauce!. He will always have a very special place in the hearts of those who loved him and will be sadly missed by his loving wife Marilyn of 38 years; his daughters Michelle (Trevor Dehmke), Andrea (Les Neufeld) and Kimberly (Jason Molleken); his grandson Brandon; his granddaughters Mackenzie, Danielle, Madison, Leah and Elisa; his brother Robert from Australia; his “Lajeunesse” family and many very special friends. Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at Gray’s Funeral Chapel, 575 – 28th Street West, Prince Albert, SK with Celebrant Val Bodnaryk. In lieu of other tributes, the family respectfully requests that donations can be made to the Victoria Hospital Foundation, 1200- 24th Street West, Prince Albert, SK. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gray's Funeral Chapel, Myriam Minier, Funeral Director.
