Elizabeth (Beth) MacDonald
November 14, 1964 – April 1, 2014
Elizabeth Edna MacDonald, age 49, of Saskatoon and formerly of La Ronge passed away Tuesday April 1, 2014 at St. Paul’s Hospital in Saskatoon. Elizabeth was loved deeply by her sons: Rodney, Darren, and Tyler; her grandson Jayden, her mother Mary, her brother Marcel (Jacqueline), her brother Roy (Ruth), her nieces: Carolann, Gemma, and Petra; and her nephews: Jeremiah, Quinn and Ryan. She was predeceased by her grandparents Fred and Elizabeth MacDonald, her father Roy Myke and her partner Lloyd Hansen. Elizabeth was born in La Ronge, SK on November 14, 1964, the daughter of Mary McDonald and Roy Myke. Growing up in La Ronge she attended Gateway School, Churchill High School, as well as Carlton High School in Prince Albert. She attended the University of Saskatchewan, earning degrees in Fine Arts and Education. She taught briefly at Mount Royal Collegiate in Saskatoon, and Father Gamache Memorial School in Fond Du Lac, SK. Elizabeth was a talented and passionate artist who could make a masterpiece of anything she put her mind to, whether it was a painting, a drawing, a sculpture, or decorating a cake, the outcome was nothing short of amazing. She instilled her artistic creativity in not only the students she taught, but also in her sons and grandson, Jayden. Jayden brought great joy to her life and was what kept her going each day. Anytime spent with Jayden would always lift her spirit. Countless hours of baking cookies, watching movies and bonding with her grandson, created many memories that he will carry with him forever. She was a kind, generous person and respected by all knew her. With her passing she takes a piece of our hearts, leaving in its places her love and wisdom. “Memory is a special place in our hearts where we can find comfort in the treasured thoughts of those we hold dear.” Wake and funeral services will be held in La Ronge. The Wake begins Monday April 7, 2014 – 5:00 pm at Kitsaki Hall, followed by a Funeral Service at St. John Vianney Catholic Church Tuesday April 8, 2014 – 2:00 pm.
