Mr. George Hrynuik late of Prince Albert and Red Deer Hill passed away suddenly on May 4, 2014. George was born March 25, 1927 at Wakaw, SK, raised on the family farm in St. Benedict, SK and attended Minaki School in St. Benedict. George and his family moved to Red Deer Hill in1947 where he continued to farm with his brothers and two nephews until his passing. George also spent five years as a member of the Prince Albert Police Department. In his younger years he spent lots of time fishing with his brothers at Anglin and Little Bear Lake. In 1987 George met Maryann (nee Semchuk) (the love of his life) and they were married on July 2, 1988. Their farm at Red Deer Hill was their labour of love where they spent many hours tending to the beautiful flower gardens and the yard. George was very involved with the Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Church. George was very dedicated, hardworking and always willing to lend a hand when needed. He enjoyed his morning coffee time with his friends at Tim Hortons. George is survived by his brothers Joseph and Edward (Lorraine); his sisters Mary Brown, Olga (Ernie) Johnston, Sandra (Richard) Yungwirth; sister-in-law Adeline and numerous nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his wife Maryann; his parents George and Nettie (Anastasia) Hrynuik; brothers Nick, John, Ted, Roman; sisters-in-law Louise and Pauline and brother-in-law Ivan Brown. Prayer Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 8, 2014 at Gray’s Funeral Chapel, 575 – 28th Street West, Prince Albert, Sk. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 9, 2014 at the Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 305 – 6th Street East, Prince Albert, SK with Father Michael Lomaszkiewicz officiating. Interment will be held at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan, 279 – 3rd Avenue East, Saskatoon, SK S7K 2H8 or to the Stars Air Ambulance, 2475 Airport Dr, Saskatoon, SK S7L 1M4.
