Lorraine Crawford
1937 – 2014
It is with great sadness that the family of Lorraine Crawford of Mont Nebo, SK announces her passing on May 28, 2014 at St. Paul's Hospital in Saskatoon at the age of 76. Lorraine was born in Prince Albert, SK on August 27, 1937. She grew up in the Hawkeye District and attended Lynwood School before completing high school in Shell Lake. Lorraine married Arthur Crawford on November 7, 1959 and they raised their five children on their farm near Mont Nebo, SK., where they continued to live until her passing. Many of Lorraine’s favourite pastimes were related to nature. She loved her flowers and to watch birds coming and going from the feeder in front of the kitchen window. She could spend hours sitting and gazing over a lake and was thrilled with trips to the mountains. Most of all, though, she loved being surrounded by her family, her grandchildren, and her great grandchildren. She lived for them and they will miss her dearly.
She will be forever loved and remembered by her husband Arthur Crawford of Mont Nebo, her son Clayton Crawford (Sandra) of Edmonton and their children Chelsea, Ashley, and Kyle; her daughter Carolyn Crawford of Shellbrook and her children Matthew (Sara Bosch), Taylor (Bobby Young), Sarra, and Michael; her son Arnold Crawford (Michelle) of Shellbrook, their children Danielle (Sheldon Taylor), Mikaela, Colby, Madison, Cassadie, Dacie, and Anika, and their grandchildren Kyra, Jaela, and Ameya; her daughter Connie Crawford of Shellbrook and her children Jessica (Daniel Herzog) and Riley; and her daughter Laurie Smith (Gerald) of Shellbrook and their children Brayden, Ryan, and Kallie. She is also survived by her sisters Eileen Levasseur, Emily Davio, and Evelyn Hamm (Dale), and brother Allan Lapetsky all of Saskatoon, her sisters-in-law; Lucy Betker, Della McKay, Joyce Fusick, Bernice Crawford and brother-in law, Roy (Clara) Crawford and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Lorraine was predeceased by her parents, Anthony and Lena Lapetsky, her brother, Art Lapetsky, and parents-in-law, Lloyd and Joan Crawford, brothers-in-law, Alphonse Levasseur, Donald Crawford, Raymond Crawford, Rudolph Betker, Vern McKay, Joe Fusick, Sister-in-law, Vera Crawford.
Lorraine will be lovingly remembered for her selflessness, devotion to family, and her love of laughter. A memorial service was held at the Mont Nebo Community Hall at 3:00 p.m. on June 1, 2014. She was laid to rest by her family at St. Luke's Anglican Church in Mont Nebo. For those wishing, memorial donations may be made in Lorraine’s honour to St. Paul’s Hospital Foundation.
