Clarence “Paul” Millis
1921 – 2014
Paul passed away peacefully at home, as was his wish, on June 21, 2014 in Prince Albert at the age of 92. He was born in Wakaw, to Clarice and Percy Millis, the third of 6 children. Paul returned from World War II as a disabled veteran, and married Dorothy Kungle on November 11, 1944. They built a house together with Dorothy’s father on 28th St. and 6th Ave. West on 6 acres. Paul had horses, cows, and chickens and he and Dorothy used work horses to farm a ¼ section he purchased from Mike Kungle north of the city. They used horses to haul loads of hay back and forth from the farm to the city. Many stories resulted from this time of their lives. He loved horses, and his life with work horses and ponies, and all that entailed, kept him busy throughout his life. Paul is survived by daughter Paulette (Doug); sons David (Lenore), Stacy (Mardell), Jay (Yeasmin); grandchildren Cory Smith (Noah and Ethan), Reagan Smith (Kim) (Dixon, Mckinley, Kieran, Nigel), Cecil Millis, Jolene Millis (Austin) (Brandon, Jasmine, Kylie and Alanna), Cody Millis, Kimberley Millis, Jody Millis (Chris) (Emma and Ethan), Dustan Millis (Carla) (Christian, Jayla, Keya, Leia), Dean Millis, Ben Millis (Jackie); (Shabab and Sheona), and brother Robert Millis. He was predeceased by his wife of 68 years, Dorothy; his daughter Holly, his sister Dorothy; his brothers John, Vincent, and Bill, and twin granddaughters. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at Gray’s Funeral Chapel, 575 – 28th Street West, Prince Albert, SK with Margaret Ferchuk officiating. Interment will be held at St Mary’s Cemetery following the reception at Grays. In lieu of other tributes memorial donations can be made to a Charity of Donor’s Choice.
