JJ LaClare was born in Kindersley, Saskatchewan and grew up in Coleville, Prelate and Melfort. His childhood was filled with playing sports and JJ loved anything with wheels. In 2005, JJ’s first marriage, to Ashlea Flodell brought the blessing of his sons, Landen and Nixon. He worked throughout the Melfort area as a mechanic and obtained his Red Seal Certification as an Agricultural Techician. JJ’s musical talents took him many places and his singing was enjoyed by anyone who heard him. He loved hunting, fishing, quadding and the outdoors in general.
This spring, JJ and Debbie Nicholson were engaged, and Debbie’s daughters Breanna and Erika looked forward to this union. Despite the shadows that often clouded his mind, he was a much loved father, a beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, and loyal friend to many. One of his last posts is a fitting commentary on his life- “Mental illness…breaking hearts since who knows when”.-JJ LaClare.
JJ will always be remembered and loved by his sons Landen and Nixon; parents Wally and Kerry; fiancé Debbie Nicholson, and Erika, Breanna and Bentley; his brother Lee (Rheann) and their children Arizona, Ruger, Laken, and Fischer; grandmothers Betty LaClare and Shirley Heilmann; AshleaTyacke (Mother of his children); as well as aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
JJ was predeceased by his grandfathers Walter LaClare and John J. Heilmann.
