LEDERHOUSE, ANTHONY NICHOLAS
July 19, 1927 – July 27, 2014
Anthony “Tony” Nicholas Lederhouse, husband of the late Beth Lederhouse, left us on July 27, 2014 at the age of 87 years. Born in Prince Albert on July 19, 1927, the twelfth and youngest child of Alexander and Anna Lederhouse, he resided in this community his entire life. He and Beth were married in Prince Albert in 1949, where they raised their family of four sons and a daughter. Tony spent his life providing for his family and selflessly supporting others in need of help. He worked 40 years for the CNR. Tony was strong in his Catholic faith, a lifelong member of St. Mark’s parish and longtime member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a talented and avid golfer, being a member of Cooke Municipal Golf Course for some 65 years, and “shooting his age” several times in recent years. He was an avid sports enthusiast, and longtime loyal supporter of the Toronto Maple Leafs, New York Yankees, and Prince Albert Raiders. His love of the Leafs and Yankees began when he listened to radio broadcasts at a stable on 6th Ave and 7th St East in the 1930’s, and continued right up to enjoying games on his big screen TV in his house on the East Hill until he passed. Tony will be ever remembered and sadly missed by his children: Michael (Jo-Ann Campling) of LaRonge and granddaughter Alysha (Ricardo Consentino, great grandson Gustavo) of Calgary; Shelley (John Grandy) of Grand Forks, B.C. and grandchildren Jake (Vanessa, great grandchildren Calista and Daelen) of Pasadena CA, Kayle (great grandson Azuryn) of Castlegar BC, and Simon (Jelana Bighorn and great grandchildren Ohiyesa, Napaysni and Kodaya) of Vanvouver; Terry (Cathy) of Calgary and grandchildren Morgan (Scott Chimuk and great grandchildren Colton and Sylar) of Calgary, Sydney (Matt McNeal) of Spokane WA, and Carter of Calgary; Chris (Shelly) of Kamloops and grandson Matthew; and Tony of Saskatoon and grandchildren Tynera of Saskatoon and Rhianda (Daryl and great grandson Damian) of Saskatoon. He is also survived by one sister-in-law Ruby Lederhouse of Prince Albert and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Beth in 2002; grandson Jordan Lederhouse in 2009; all of his eight brothers and three sisters, and numerous sisters and brothers-in-law. A Memorial Service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at Gray’s Funeral Chapel, 575 – 28 Street West, Prince Albert, SK. Interment will be held at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. In lieu of other tributes, memorial contributions can be made to the SPCA, PO Box 1832, Prince Albert, SK S6V 6J9. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gray's Funeral Chapel, Myriam Minier, Funeral Director (306-922-4729).
