March 19, 1927– August 22, 2014
Vern was born in Kinistino, SK to a family of 8 children, whom he was the eldest. He talked about being a cat operator, clearing farmland around the Choiceland area, who after met Fern McMullen and marrying on May 7, 1955. They then travelled across western Canada while working on the Trans Canada pipelines earning enough to purchase farm land near Davis. Together they had beef, dairy and grain farming. He never really retired just down sized. He looked forward in doing the spring harrowing and the fall swathing. He enjoyed visiting with neighbors over a cup of coffee and a smoke while looking out the kitchen window at the cattle in the field. He was to complete his life on August 22, 2014. Vern leaves to mourn his life, his three children Bruce (Patti), Blair (Yvette) and Sharon; his grandchildren Kalie, Krista, Kylie, Jessica and Jared; great grandchildren Jayden and Tessa; his brothers Glen Ozmun of Saskatoon, SK, Merv (Harriet) Ozmun of Prince Albert, SK, Blain (Hazel) Ozmun of Prince George, BC and Richard (Donna) Ozmun of Medicine Hat, AB; his sisters Helen Sorenson of Melfort, SK and Evelyn Mischuk of Paddockwood, SK. He was predeceased by his wife Fern; his parents Claude and Annie Ozmun; his sister Jean Willis; his sister-in-law Janine Ozmun and his brothers-in-law Soren Sorensen and Bill Mischuk.
