April 27, 1927 – August 19, 2014

Christina Cyndrowski (Berge) Braaten, age 88 years, of Hagen, SK, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2014 at The Birchview Nursing Home, Birch Hills, SK. Chris was predeceased by her parents Stanley and Nellie Cyndrowski, her brothers Mike, Tom and Joe, her sisters MaryLena, Phyllis and Pauline, as well as her first love, George Berge. She is survived by her loving son Richard (Sandy) Berge, and their children: Chase, Spencer and Madison, her husband Elmer Braaten, her stepson Randy (Carolyn) Braaten and their children: Kara, Jena, Stacey, Cameron and Courtney and her sister Jean Plesh as well as numerous nieces and nephews and great-grandchildren. Chris was born near Prince Albert and grew up in the area. She worked as a cook in Prince Albert before meeting and marrying George Berge. She became a farm wife and moved to the Hagen area with George. They had one son, Richard. When George died suddenly Chris continued to farm with Richard for many years. Chris enjoyed going to church and participating in many activities such as curling, gardening and going to her cabin at the lake as well as spending time with friends and family. Chris enjoyed her flowers and was known for lovely big yard of flowers while on the farm and she continued to enjoy her begonias later in life. Chris met and married Elmer Braaten in 1984. They continued to live in the Hagen area until recently. Her grandchildren were very special to her and she loved spending time with them especially when she went camping at Wakaw Lake with them. Chris’ life was filled by giving of herself to others. She just lit up when she was around the little ones and especially enjoyed her great-grandchildren. A Graveside Service was held on Friday, August 22, 2014 at 11:00 am with Pastor Clint Knutson officiating at Saron Lutheran Cemetery, Hagen, SK.
