Also left to mourn are dad’s brothers Lloyd (Shirley) Gervais of Lloyminster, SK, Gordon (Darlene) Gervais of Prince George, BC, Martin Gervais of Prince George, Raynie (Bev) Gervais of Prince George and Allen Gervais of Chilliwack, BC; his sisters Audrey (Ron) Selberg of Prince George, BC, Elsie (Glen) Umperville of Prince Albert and Sylvia Gervais of Prince George as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Dad grew up in Meadow Lake and in his early twenties moved to Prince George where he first worked for the Department of Highways and then for Prince George Senior Secondary High School as a custodian. In 1981, Dad moved his family to Prince Albert, to be closer to his mother, where he spent every Sunday having lunch with her until her passing in 1991. Dad’s greatest joy was his grandchildren. He was very proud of them and they all had a mutual respect and great love for each other. Dad had a great sense of humour and you were always greeted with a smile. He took daily walks, played bingo, casino, and he loved listening to music and you could often hear his foot tapping to the beat. He spent a great deal of time with his sister Elsie and would phone and tell us what adventure they had gotten into that day. Thank you to the quick action of the staff at the Northern Lights Casino who made sure dad received medical attention immediately. Thank you to all the staff in the emergency room and on the 6th floor of the Victoria Hospital for making dad’s last days peaceful and as comfortable as possible. A Celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 16 from the Arbor Lounge of River Park Memorial Chapel. (Please enter at double doors South entrance).
