March 29, 1939 – October 8, 2014
Ruth Treena Lovestead, late of Weldon, SK, passed away quietly in the Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert, SK on October 8, 2014 at the age of 75years. Ruth was born north of Weldon on March 29, 1939 to Julia and Vern Simpso. She has previously lived in Prince Albert, Birch Hills, Squamish, BC, and recently moved from Sundre, AB. Ruth worked at many different occupations throughout her life until she retired in 2004. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, helping family and many of the friends she found in her travels in life. Ruth believed in living life to the fullest and that is exactly what she did right to the end with courage and strength. Ruth is survived by her sisters Dorothy (Skip) Topping and Anne Lillemoen (Ron Laforge), and numerous nieces and nephews. A special family, Rhonda Linskog and her three sons provided Ruth with a family environment for many years. Ruth was predeceased by her husband Herman Lovestead, her two sons Johnny and Darcy, her mother Julia Simpso, her sister Irene Jenkins, and her brother Roy Simpso. A Celebration of Life barbecue will be held at the home of Dorothy and Skip Topping, 1470 Sibbald Crescent, Prince Albert, SK on Thursday, October 16, 2014 between 3:30 and 6:00 pm.
