1958 – 2014
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Shane Younger on Friday, October 10, 2014. Shane was born February 14, 1958 in Deloraine Manitoba. He attended school in Lauder, Manitoba then later in Hartney, Manitoba. Shane worked on the Thomas farms with his Dad after school and weekends. He loved to play ball with the Lauder ball team and in the winter he curled and played hockey. He was employed by Manitoba Pool for a year then started his 36 year career with Cargill in Roblin, MB, Cudworth, SK and Birch Hills, SK. Shane had many hobbies which included coaching hockey, snowmobiling, curling, and was a member of the Lion’s Club. Shane will be lovingly remembered by his wife Roberta; his daughters Monica (Aaron) Chicoine and their children Coltin and Bailey and Meagan Younger (Brandon Harris); his sisters Kelly (Jim) Unger-Younger and Kim (Rick) Chalmers; his brother Calvin (Darlene) Younger; his sisters-in-law Amy (Doug) Cockerill and Isabel Bergeron; his brother-in-law Colin (Tammy) Arnott and numerous neices, nephews, relatives and friends. Shane was predeceased by his parents Ed and Bev Younger; his wife’s parents James and Alice Arnott; brothers-in-law Jack Arnott and Henry Bergeron. Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at Lake Park Baptist Church with Pastor Matthew Teigrob officiating.
