KARDOS, Ignace Andrew – With sadness, the family announces the passing of a beloved father, grandfather and great grandfather on October 10th, 2014 at the Wakaw Lakeview Pioneer Lodge at the age of 89 years.
Ignace was born to Steve and Eva (Boldis) Kardos on July 14th, 1925 in the Wakaw district. He was the youngest son of seven children. Ignace married Jennie (Feduniw) on October 16th, 1956 and took over the family homestead. They raised a family of seven children and farmed together for over 43 years. Mixed farming was Ignace’s passion until he retired in June of 1999 at which time they moved into the town of Wakaw. The two of them enjoyed gardening, yard work and settling in their new home. But a year later, in November of 2000 Jennie passed away after 44 years of marriage. He became an avid gardener to which was the envy of many neighbors.
Ignace passed his time cooking, playing cards and socializing. In December of 2010, Wakaw Lakeview Pioneer lodge became his new home until his passing. Dad leaves to mourn his passing and cherish his memory: seven children, eighteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren. DALE (Debra) Kardos of Wakaw and their children, Brandie (Ronald) Georget, Christie (Richard) Green and son Erik, Derrick, DENNIS (Cheryl) Kardos of Olds AB, and their children, Jordan, Jenna, TERRY (Sandra) Kardos of Provost AB and their children Allison, Lindsay, Chad, Randy, BARRY (Charlene) Kardos of Olds AB and their children, Kyle, Brooklyn, GARRY Kardos of Prince Albert and his children, Zachary, Simon, NOELLA (Ryan) Domotor of Turtleford and their children, Logan, Lyndon. One sister: Margaret Kun of Saskatoon as well as numerous relatives and friends.
Ignace was predeceased by his wife: Jennie (Feduniw) Kardos, parents: Steve and Eva (Boldis) Kardos, brothers: Stephen Jr, Joe, Francis, Michael, John, sister: Katherine. A public visitation was held at the Chapel of Kushneryk Funeral Service in Wakaw, on Tuesday October 14th, 2014 from 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm. The Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at the St. Theresa Roman Catholic Church in Wakaw on Wednesday, October 15th 2014 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Fr. Phong Tran as Celebrant. Interment followed in the St. Theresa Roman Catholic Cemetery. Donations in memory of Ignace’s honor may be made to the Lakeview Pioneer Lodge – Palliative Care Family Room.
