Joyce Lilas Neis

It is with great sadness that the family of Joyce Lilas Neis announces her passing on Sunday, October 12, 2014.
Joyce Neis (Anderson) was born October 11, 1931 in Fairy Glen, Saskatchewan and was the youngest of 5 daughters. Joyce attended public school in Fairy Glen and Outlook and nursing school at the Holy Family Hospital in Prince Albert.
Joyce married Robert (Bob) Neis at the Carrot River Valley Lutheran Church on August 19, 1954 and they raised 4 children.
Joyce became a Registered Nurse and worked at many hospitals and care centers across Western Canada. One of her first jobs was in Melfort at the first Parkland Care Center. Joyce had a gentle, pleasant, and sensitive manner which made her the perfect nurse and caregiver.
Joyce loved to go fishing and camping and enjoyed playing cards and board games with her sisters, friends and family. She loved to laugh; she loved music, to sing and to play the piano. Joyce played the organ at the Lutheran Church in Whitehorse, Yukon for several years.
Joyce will be lovingly remembered by her husband Robert (Bob) Neis, sons Ron (Jennifer), and Rob; her daughters Terry (Mickey McKay), and Patty Schofield (George Fairclough); grandchildren Patrick (Chelsea), Andrew (Michelle), Maggie, Timmothy (Rebekah), Jason, Michelle, Rachel and Caleb (Maria) ; great grandchildren Katelyn, Ezekiel, Eric and Theodore; and her sister Daisy Solsten. Joyce will also be mourned by her cousins and numerous nieces, and nephews and their families.
Joyce was predeceased by her parents Alph and Augusta Anderson; her sisters Mildred Embury, Verona Ofstie, Hazel Gorder and granddaughter Miriam Neis.
