1937 – 2014
Richard Nagy passed away suddenly on Monday October 27, 2014 in Prince Albert, SK following a battle with cancer. Richard was born in Wakaw, SK on April 24, 1937 to Elizabeth and Geza Nagy. Right out of high school, Dick served one term in the air force but didn’t serve active duty. Dick enjoyed his work as a heavy duty mechanic, truck driver, CAT operator, and welder. He was a great storyteller, always making people smile and loving to tell of his adventures. Following a career as a millwright he retired to Deer Ridge, SK, later moving to Candle Lake, SK and settling in Prince Albert, SK. Dick had a true passion for fishing and hunting, spending countless hours on Candle Lake. While living in Prince Albert, his past time was playing bridge, and touring the province with his friends from the Heritage Centre. Dick is survived by his special friend “Tudy” Yvonne Hansen, his sisters Lorraine Tokey of Toronto, ON and Olga Osterlund of Calgary, AB; his brother Ed (Gloria) of Saskatoon, SK; his nephews David (Brenda) Osterlund and Kevin (Kathi) Nagy; his nieces Karen (Mark) Winters and Sandra (Dale) Kary, as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and close friends. He was predeceased by his wife Donna (nee Honsberger) and his parents Elizabeth and Geza Nagy. At Dick’s request a private interment will be held at a later date. In memory of Dick memorial donations may be made to Charity of Donor’s Choice. “Thank you for the joy and inspirations you shared.
