It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loving wife, mother and grandmother Irene. She was born June 19, 1945 in Petit de Grat (Boudreauville) Nova Scotia to Simon and Evelyn (nee Richard) Boudreau, the second youngest of 11 children. Irene moved to Toronto in 1962 where she later met her future husband Bob in 1970. They shared their first date on December 12, 1970 at a Chicago/Toronto NHL game at Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto. Their son Michael was born in Toronto in 1971. In 1973 they moved to Esterhazy where their first daughter Roberta was born in 1980. Their second daughter Linda was born in Yorkton in 1986. They made Esterhazy their home for 25 years before moving to Prince Albert in 1999. Throughout her lifetime, Irene loved to go for walks and bike rides. She spent good times with friends and family, especially her two grandkids. Irene loved baking, gardening, playing cards and going to Church. She held numerous positions in the CWL in Esterhazy and Prince Albert. She was a Beaver Leader for Scouts Canada and a member of Kinettes, as well as a volunteer for various charities. Irene is survived by her loving husband Robert; her son Michael of Winnipeg, MB; her daughters Roberta (Adam) and Linda (James) both of Winnipeg MB; her grandchildren Jayden and Nathan; her sisters Helen (Melvin) Boudreau of Upper Tantallon NS, Ella (Arthur) Boudreau of Calgary AB, Isabel Boudreau of Brampton ON, and Jeannette (Walter) Roberts of Arichat NS; her brothers Ronald Boudreau of Montreal QC, Leon Boudreau of Arichat NS, and Alvin (Doreen) Boudreau of Ottawa ON; as well as very close family friend Jody Hazelwood; along with numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. She was predeceased by her mother and father Evelyn and Simon; her sister Jeanne; her sister Florence (in infancy); her brother Gaston (in infancy); her brothers-in-law Joseph Boudreau, Rudolph Boudreau and John Quesnel; and her mother and father-in-law Frank and Betty Quesnel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 260 – 25th Street East, Prince Albert, SK with Celebrant Reverend Father Roque Concepcion. Interment will be held at a later date in Nova Scotia. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to Saskatoon Cancer Centre, 20 Campus Drive, Saskatoon, SK S7N 4H4.
