DONALD ROY (DON) OSLER Donald Roy Osler, age 83, passed away Monday, December 15, 2014 after a brief illness. Don was married to Florence (nee Fry) for over fifty years, until her passing n 2002. He was born Tuesday, December 16, 1930 in Regina, SK, residing in Prince Albert and Meath Park from 1960 until his passing. Don`s career in the trucking industry spanned over five decades – he had an encyclopedic knowledge of the highways and byways of Western Canada – and had a wealth of stories gleaned from his years on the road. Though he never lost his interest in all things mechanical, in later life Don became an avid birdwatcher. Don is survived by: his sons Donald (Judy Henry) of Red Deer, AB, and Edward of Prince Albert; his grandchildren Donnie (Fiona Kennedy) Osler of Calgary, AB, Will (Ula Thepsouvanh) Osler of Lethbridge, AB, and Lisa Osler of Verdun, QB, Levi Jayne Osler of Edmonton, AB, and Cohen Osler of Prince Albert; his great-granddaughter Tenika Kennedy; his sister Sylvia Brown of Moose Jaw, SK; his sister-in-law Ann Onrait of Fort Qu`Appelle, SK; his brother Patrick O`Brien of Vancouver, BC; his brother-in-law John Fry of Fort Qu`Appelle; numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by: his parents Percy and Bertha (nee Stinchcomb) Osler; his brothers Ralph and Allen; his sisters Marjorie Niebergall, Ruth Hollinger, Dorothy Thompson, Hazel Buller, Wilma Harron; his grand-daughter Angela Osler. The family would like to thank the nursing staff in the ICU and on levels 4 and 6 of the Victoria Hospital, as well as all his friends at Chester Court who were his companions for the last twelve years. Those wishing to make donations in Don’s memory are invoted to do so to the Canadian Cancer Society, 54 11 Street East, Prince Albert, SK S6V 0Z9. At Don’s request, no funeral service was held.
