VICTORIA ROSE HANINGTON
Victoria Rose Hanington passed away at Victoria Hospital on Sunday, December 21, 2014 with her family by her side. She was born to Peter and Helen Bezpaloff on May 24, 1928. Left to cherish her memory are her five children Lori (Peter) Halayka; Judy (Doug) Halayka; Sandy (Bent) Junker; Bruce (Wendy) Walker; Debbie (Murray) Clark; her ten grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; her two sisters Edna Androsoff and Helen Zbeeshko. She was predeceased by her husband Gerald Hanington; the rfather of her children Sidney Walker; her brothers Mike, Peter and Larry Bezpaloff; her sisters Lydia Ewanciw and Sadie Maddigan; her grandchildren Kari-Ann Halayka and Jeff Junker. Vicky was an avid knitter, she was well known for her dishcloths and baby blankets. She always had a large garden and even after moving into her apartment, she continued to garden out at the acreage. Time was spent with Bible study or outdoors walking (picking bottles), saskatoon and blueberry picking or wild mushrooms (after a rain). Vicky was always interested in a game of cards, whether it was Rummy, Solitaire or Canasta. Butter tarts could always be found in the freezer, apple crisp coming out of the oven or a double layer chocolate cake with homemade frosting on the cupboard. Vicky worked as a teacher aide at Osborne School and housekeeping at the hospital all the while raising five kids. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren held a special place in her heart. She attended the pool parties, graduations, weddings and all the family events. Our cherished memories will never fade, she will live on in our hearts. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 29 at River Park Memorial Chapel. Family interment will take place at a later date.
