Magdalena Skowronski was born Aug 25, 1925 to parents Nicholas and Theresa Trausch in Stamora Germana a small village in Romania. As a teenager she traveled to Germany to work on the farm. There she met and married her husband. Their first child, a daughter, was born there. When the war ended the family unit immigrated to Saskatchewan, to a farm outside of Somme to be more precise. A second child, this time a boy came along when they moved into Somme. Their third child, another daughter came along just as they were moving into Porcupine Plain. Later two more children were born, another son and lastly the third daughter. In the fall of 1989, Magdalena lost her husband to cancer, and shortly thereafter she sold her house and moved to Melfort where she resided in Deifenbaker Place.
Magdalena loved God and actively pursued her faith. She also loved to cook and bake. She knew a bargain and could budget in a manner that would make most political parties blush. Her family loved her and will miss her kindness and prayers but they also know she is now at peace with her Saviour.
Lena is predeceased by her husband Michael Skowronski and is survived by her children, Mary Bagnal, Joe Skowronski, Teresia Dussome, Larry Skowronski, Nicky Hamilton, their spouses and her three grandchildren.
