Phoebe passed away peacefully at Birchview Care Home in Birch Hills, SK on what would have been her 73rd wedding anniversary, January 12, 2015. She is survived by her daughter Stella Butler; sister-in-law Hilda Legge; 2 adopted daughters Jean Hubel and Marlene Steger; 2 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Alec; son John; daughter Edith; son Hughie and grandson Jason. Phoebe was born April 9, 1925 in Flat Island, NF. She married Alec Butler on January 12, 1942. In 1953 they moved to Halifax,.NS where she worked as a nurses aide. They moved to Saskatoon in 1992 and then in 2003 to Prince Albert, SK. In May of 2011 she resided at Birchview Nursing Home where she received amazing care and attention that was second to none. A Private Family Graveside Service will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, in Saskatoon, SK. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca.
