Dave Knutson

Selmer David Knutson passed away Jan 21, 2015 surrounded by his loving family in the Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan at the age of 78. Dave was born in Spalding, SK on November 22, 1936. His early years were spent in Saskatoon, and on the farm in the Naicam/Spalding area. Dave met and fell in love with Patricia Lynn Scaife in 1960. They were married in Prince Albert at St. Alban’s Cathedral on September 23, 1961. They settled in Prince Albert and he worked various jobs, before settling on a job for the School Division, working as a painter and then as the Head Caretaker at King George School. He was forced to retire after a heart attack and heart surgery in 1993 but God blessed all of us with over two more decades of time together. With the influence of Jim Hill and Billy Graham, he began a personal relationship with Jesus. Dave, Pat and family have been a part of the Prince Albert Alliance Church since its early beginnings. Dave was predeceased by Gram Julia Knutson (nee: Lee), Selmer Knutson, Marilyn Scaife and Shirley Knudtson. He is survived by Dora Knutson, Nola (Ray) Chopiuk and Donna (Les) Olson. His legacy lives on through his loving wife of 53 years, Pat (nee Scaife); his children: Benita (Gordon) Borrowman of Prince Albert, their children, Jason, Michelle (Aaron) baby Bean, Scott and Gregory; Arlene (Darrell) Ring of Prince Albert, their children Grant (Amanda) their child Karter, Graham, and Beth; Cory (Loraine) Knutson, from Spalding, SK, their children Heather, Amy and Jayme; Vernon (Lana) Knutson of Riverton, MB, their children, Olivia, Reuben, Rachel and Emilie; Christopher (Karen) of Prince Albert and their children, Cole, Kaleb and Joseph; also lifelong friend and best man, Max Ditmar of Shellbrook. He is also remembered by numerous nephews and nieces, his loving church family, and many friends. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 26, 2015 at the Prince Albert Alliance Church, 2777 – 6th Avenue West, Prince Albert, SK with Pastor Mark Bergen officiating. Interment to follow at a later date. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to the Prince Albert Alliance Church, 2777 – 6th Avenue West, Prince Albert, SK S6V 5L4.
