Emelia Mitchell

Emelia Mitchell passed away at Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at the age of 89 years. “Milly” was born Thursday, May 28, 1925 in Markinch, SK to Anton and Mary Lipinski. She married Gordon Mitchell on September 10, 1944 in Davidson while Gordon was in the Air Force. They moved to the farm in Henribourg after Gordon was discharged from the Air Force, and lived there until 1955. They moved to Prince Albert where Milly remained a housewife and worked at various jobs until her retirement. She worked at the Victoria Hospital in dietary, at the Pizza Attic, and at the Provincial Halfway House. Milly had an amazing passion and talent for painting, paper tole, knitting, crocheting, cross-stitching and other arts and crafts. Family and friends benefitted from this passion with their homes well-supplied with her work. Milly was preceded in death by her parents Anton and Mary Lipinski, her in-laws Stanley and Freida Mitchell, her sister Joan and her brothers-in-law George Bessey and Leo Thurmeier. Milly is survived by Gordon, her loving husband of 70 years; her sons Dale (Nettie) and Rick (Lisa Dennis); and her daughter Audrey (Greg) Klama, all of Prince Albert. She is also survived by her six grandchildren Trevor (Alexis) and Trent (Shannon) Mitchell, Kesha and Mikka Mitchell, Christopher (Tara) and Kevin (Kristin) Klama as well as nine great-grandchildren: Drew, Noah, Ethan, Callie, and Severin Mitchell, Jaxon, Mackenzie, Aidan and Aliyah Klama. Also surviving are her brothers Edward (Eleanor) Lipinski and Joe (Helen) Lipinski, and her sister Doris Thurmeier. Cremation took place February 5, and a Celebration of Life and interment will take place at a later date.
