Susanna Pelech

Susanna “Sue” Pelech was born January 10th, 1938 to Nicholas and Anna Wasyliw on the farm at Yellow Creek. The family later moved to Smeaton when Sue was a girl. In 1953, at the age of 15, she married Paul Pelech and moved to Weirdale. They started their family with the birth of David in 1955. For numerous years they farmed in the summer and operated a sawmill in the winter around the lower Fishing Lake area. In 1962 they had Shirley and in the late 60’s they moved their sawmill to Fort La Corne. They then had three boys; Wayne in 1967, Calvin in 1969 and Mike in 1970. In 1974, the family moved to Smeaton and opened Tip Top Grocery store. In 1986, Sue moved to Prince Albert where she delivered mail for a few years. After which she moved on to an assortment of other jobs including working as a commissionaire. In the fall of 2000 she moved back to Smeaton to work in the newly opened North Haven Senior’s Home. She retired in 2003 and spent her time gardening, playing Bingo, looking after her granddaughter and spending time with her friends and family. Sue is survived by her children David (Joan) of Snowden, SK; Shirley of Smeaton, SK; Wayne (Wanda) of Snowden, SK; Calvin (Yvette) of Prince Albert, SK; Mike (Kim) of Smeaton, SK; her grandchildren: Bobby; Billy (Kelsi); Lori (Brandon); Michelle; Katlyn; Adam; Ashley; Aliya; Brandon; Jesse; Mark; Crystal (Darcy); Chloe; Bradley; her great grandson, Jack; her siblings: Nick (Janette) Wasyliw of Prince Albert, SK; Elsie Pelech of Choiceland, SK; Bill (Lori) Wasyliw of Prince Albert, SK; Iris (Mike) Prokopie of Prince Albert, SK; and Richard (Amie) Wasyliw of Saskatoon, SK; her sisters-in-law, Mae Wasyliw and Trudy Wasyliw. She is predeceased by: Her parents, Nicholas and Anna Wasyliw; and her brothers, John and Pete Wasyliw. Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 13, 2015 at Smeaton Rec Center with Pastor Darcy Cust officiating. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 54 – 11th Street East, Prince Albert, SK S6V 0Z9.
