Mary Tabachniuk

Our dearest mom Mary Tabachniuk (nee Baziw) went to be with the Lord on Thursday February 12, 2015. We had her for 92 blessed years. Mom was born on Wednesday Nov. 1st 1922, passed away on Thursday Feb 12 2015. She was the eldest daughter of Alexander and Annie Baziw. She was born and raised on the family farm in the Leofnard district and was schooled in the R.M. of Hoodoo. Mary married John Tabachniuk June 28th 1940 in the Saint Ascension Church. Mom resided in many Saskatchewan locations throughout her life including Tway, Meath Park and Prince Albert. At the time of her passing she resided in Saskatoon. Mom spent her life as a home maker raising 6 children, caring for foster children and being a care home for special needs people. She had a genuine love of all and cared for all. Mom loved to garden and make preserves to give to her many family and friends. She loved flowers and her yard was always so beautiful. She had many hobbies like cross stitching, crocheting, knitting and Easter egg painting. She loved to cook and bake and many a meal was enjoyed by family and friends. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren and was so proud of them and felt very blessed to have been able to see them grow into wonderful young men and women. Mom spent her final years in Cedar Gardens care home where she was loved by all and will truly be missed. Mom is survived by her 6 children, 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren: John & Brenda Tabachniuk – (Calgary) Granddaughter Lorilee Larsen, great granddaughters Jenica (Caleb) Kostyniuk, and Chloe. (Calgary) Grandson Russell & Tanya Tabachniuk, great granddaughters Jazlyn and Hope. (Lethbridge) Ann Tabachniuk (Cranbrook) Darlene Tabachniuk (Saskatoon) Gordon Tabachniuk (Edmonton) Michael & Donna Tabachniuk Granddaughters Kayla and Erica. (Edmonton) Elaine & Brad Thorimbert Grandsons Joshua (Brittany) and Christopher. (Saskatoon) Mary had one brother Nick (Marge) Baziw (Calgary) and a sister Nettie Kaminecki (Cudworth) And many nieces and nephews. Mary was predeceased by her husband, and parents. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to charity of choice.
