Ronald Mills passed away peacefully March 4th, 2015 at the Victoria Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born December 14th, 1928 in Fairholme, Saskatchewan to his parents Frank and Olive Mills. Ronald married Rita Baribeau in 1959 in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. They were blessed with two children; Brent (Juliette) and Barbara (Darrell). Ron was employed at Grosser and Glass for over 30 years, a job which he truly loved and a job which gave him lifelong friends whom he continued to keep in contact with before his passing. Ron and Rita enjoyed their summers at Waskesiu, spending many hours fishing in the Heart Lakes, something that their children and grandchildren continue to do. After retirement Ron and Rita enjoyed traveling and many trips to Las Vegas. After Rita’s passing in 1999, Ron continued to live in his home taking on all household responsibilities. This was a major accomplishment as for when Ron was a young man he was stricken with the disease Polio. Ron never let his disability effect his life which he lived to the fullest. Within the past year, Post Polio Syndrome had slowed Ron down significantly. We were blessed with his darling Letty; Ron’s full time caregiver whom had shown Ron the utmost of respect and dignity and allowed Ron to continue to live in his home for the last years of his life. We cannot thank Letty enough for the compassion and love that she had shown not only to Ron but to all of us. Ron’s grandchildren had a special place in his heart. He loved their visits and talking about their accomplishments. We would like to especially thank the nursing staff in the ICU at the Victoria Hospital. Their care and compassion during Ron’s final days made a difficult situation somewhat easier. Ron was predeceased by his loving wife Rita (1999); his brother Gordon along with his parents. He is survived by his son Brent and his wife Juliette (Lehner) and their two daughters Taylor and Sarah; his daughter Barbara and her husband Darrell (Sackney) and their two sons Bryant and Justin; his brother Frank (Jean) Mills and their families and his sister Eileen and her family. Ron will always be remembered for his quick wit, unique sense of humor and determination. Ron will forever be missed to all who knew him. A Private Family Service will be held with Father Michael Fahlman officiating. Interment will be held at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to the S.P.C.A., PO Box 1832, Prince Albert, SK S6V 6J9. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gray’s Funeral Chapel, (306-922-4729).
