Ada Wyllie

On March 9th, 2015 Ada Wyllie entered into eternal peace in the care of Mont St. Joseph Care Home. Ada was born and raised in Amherstburg, Ontario October 22, 1931. She studied to become a Deaconess in Toronto, Ontario in 1958. She then moved to Prince Albert, Saskatchewan to begin her work as a Deaconess with the Prince Albert Presbytery. Ada offered her services to the community within and around the Prince Albert area, working with Ministers and local congregations. It was through this work that she met the love of her life, Robert (Bert) Wyllie. They were married in September, 1962. It was with the birth of her daughter, Ruth, and later on, her grandsons, Robert (Rob) and Jerold (Jerry), that she began a more family-oriented lifestyle. Ada later went on to become a Worthy Matron in the Eastern Star in 1978 and was an avid member for over 50 years of her life. Ada spent much of her free time with her family and friends, enjoying hand-crafts, and singing favourite songs and hymns. She is survived by her daughter, Ruth Gillingham; her son-in-law, Grant Gillingham; her grandsons, Robert (Rob) and Jerold (Jerry) Gillingham; her best friend, Vivian Shipanoff; her brother, Alec Wade, and his wife, Alice Wade; sisters-in-law, Anne Reed and Shirley Wade. Ada was predeceased by her husband, Robert (Bert) Wyllie; her sisters, Ann Wade and Florence (Flo) Hardy, and her brothers, Bill and Jack Wade. Ada will live on through memories she shared with her many surviving family and friends. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 13, 2015 at Gray’s Funeral Chapel, 575 – 28th Street West, Prince Albert, SK with Pastor George Yando officiating. Interment will be held at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. Donations can be made in Ada’s memory to either the Canadian Cancer Society, 54 – 11th Street East, Prince Albert, SK S6V 0Z9 or a charity of the donor’s choice.
