It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the tragic passing of our youngest child Anthony Dennis Heffernan. Anthony is survived by his loving family – parents Pat and Irene (Isabelle); his siblings – Steven (Ina Leese) and nephews and niece Ben, Max and Lia, Natalie (Joe) Iaquinta and nephews Luca and Rohan, Joe (Sue Mildner) and Grant (fiancée Ebony Thiel); his grandmother Eleanor Isabelle and 64 first cousins and numerous aunts and uncles. He was predeceased by his grandparents Jack and Helen Heffernan of Birch Hills and Adelard Isabelle of Fort Qu’Appelle; aunt Janice Isabelle and uncles Jack Heffernan and Glenn Isabelle. Anthony passed away on March 16, 2015 in Calgary, Alberta at the age of 27 years. Anthony had a deep faith in Christ and always prayed to our Savior for guidance in his daily life. He frequently prayed the rosary and usually carried a rosary with him. Anthony attended Sacred Heart Cathedral with his family. Anthony was born on January 27, 1988 in Prince Albert, Sask. He was a beautiful baby and was so loved by his siblings who doted on him. He was exuberant, energetic and loved excitement. Anthony would often entertain his brothers and sister with his antics. He was an excellent athlete and loved sports, especially soccer and snowboarding. He loved spending time with his many cousins (64 first cousins) and friends. Anthony enjoyed his new role as an uncle and was often the first person on the floor to play with his nephews and niece. He was hoping to meet a woman who would share his faith in God and love of family. Anthony attended West Central School, MacDowall School, St. Francis School and St. Mary High School in Prince Albert. He graduated from St. Mary High School in 2006. That fall, Anthony began the Electrician Apprenticeship Program in Alberta. He was an extremely hard worker and due to the incredible number of hours he worked, he achieved the Red Seal Journeyman Electrician Certificate at the age of 21. His career took him to various parts of Saskatchewan and Alberta, but primarily Fort McMurray and Calgary. He enjoyed making those he supervised excited about their jobs and this led him to his goal to enroll in University to become an electrical engineer. At present he was taking night classes at SAIT and was to write his final for the Masters Electrician Program on March 28, 2015. Anthony loved to help and motivate others especially in their careers. He was responsible for two of his cousins and two friends entering the Electrician Apprenticeship Program. Anthony loved to cook, but baking was his specialty. His Chewy Double Chocolate Chip Cookies were well known and loved by all! He frequently cooked for his brothers, cousins and friends. Just last Christmas, he and his brother Grant prepared Christmas dinner for Ebony’s family at their home in Calgary. Family was very important to Anthony. He spent most of his leisure time with his family and cousins who he loved very much. He loved to laugh and made people feel good about themselves. Anthony loved the freedom of his family’s acreage where he could skidoo, motorbike, build a fire and hunt. He enjoyed taking care of our numerous litters of Shepherd puppies. Everyone knew how well Anthony took care of himself because of how he looked. He worked out almost daily, often using personal trainers, and he went to a Naturopath monthly. He loved to eat healthy meals. That was the dichotomy of his struggle. Words cannot express how much everyone in Anthony’s life will miss him. He was a joy to be around and was a very loving, thoughtful and caring person.
Anthony – May you rest in peace in the arms of Christ. We will miss you and love you forever.
