It is with heavy hearts that the family of Fred Bernier say farewell as he passed away on May 27^th, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer.  Fred’s hobbies included model trains and planes, hunting, fishing and spending time with family.  He loved music, and one of his greatest pleasures in life was getting together with family and friends to play his guitar and sing all of his favorite songs.  It is how he best expressed himself.   Anyone that knew Fred knew that he was a quiet man, with very few words but he had the best sense of humour.  Like his quiet character he never laughed out loud, but all you had to do was look at his face, and he would be sitting there laughing so hard, the tears would be rolling down his cheeks.  Even up until his final days, his humour never left him and he was still cracking jokes and making us laugh.  These are some of the memories we will all cherish forever.  Left to cherish his memory are his best friend and wife of 54 years, Jeannette Bernier; his daughter Michelle Bernier (Dennis Davis); the lights of his life, his two granddaughters Meghan and Shay Bernier-O’Kane; his brother-in-law Wesley Parenteau; his sisters-in-law Marilyn (Vic) Evans, Mavis (Brian) Cowan, Betty Parenteau, Erna (Felix) Mathieu, and Kendra Smith (Stan Funk), numerous nieces and nephews and all of his extended family.  Fred was predeceased by his son Daryl Bernier and two infant sons; his parents, Albert & Florence Bernier; his parent’s in-law Alphonse & Flora Parenteau and his brother-in-law Ron Parenteau.  Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 3^rd, 2015 at the Calvary United Church , 114 –  25^th Street East, Prince Albert, SK with Reverend Nora Vedress officiating.  In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to albertacancer.ca designated to the Tom Baker Cancer Centre, Calgary, Alberta.    Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca.  Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Gray’s Funeral Chapel, (306-922-4729).
