Victoria “Vici” Lubyk. It is with sadness that our family announces the passing of our mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Mom passed away unexpectedly in Regina during open heart surgery on Friday, May 29, 2015. She would have celebrated her 81st birthday on July 4th. Mom had a wonderful spirit and an exuberance for life. She was a hard worker and dedicated her heart and soul to getting the job done whether looking after her family, friends, farming, gardening, or housework. We will fondly remember her for teaching us those values. Mom’s life and legacy will live on through her children: Bev (Jerry) Walker, Lorie (Doris) Lubyk, Debbie (Randy) Kosowan and Irwin (Vicky) Lubyk; her two grandchildren Danielle (Andrew) Baron and Eric Kosowan. Mom was over-the-moon proud of the latest addition to the family, Beatrice Baron, her only great-grandchild. Mom also leaves her sister Rose (Eugene) Zadvorny and Rose’s son Jim (Emily) Zadvorny and their children Max and Finn, and her daughter Kathy (Brad) Robertson and their children Lauren and Berkley. Mom mourned the passing of her husband Roman, her parents Peter and Mary Goota, her brother Walter and numerous extended Goota, Adamko and Lubyk members. Mom and Dad moved into their condo in Prince Albert six years ago. She absolutely loved her condo and the new friends she made at North Crest Estates. Mom enthusiastically participated in making her new community a home. In lieu of flowers or other gifts, donations may be made to North Crest Estates AED Defibrillator Fund or the Heart and Stroke Foundation. We know Mom would have been absolutely proud to give this gift from her heart to the hearts of her condo friends and neighbours. Mom, you were truly loved and are leaving an enormous hole in many hearts. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 4 from St. George’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, with Father Ivan Nahachewsky officiating. Interment will take place in the South Hill Cemetery. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of RIVER PARK MEMORIAL CHAPEL, Prince Albert, SK. 306 764-2727, Donald M. Moriarty, Funeral Director.
