It is with heavy hearts that the family of Lorna Marion Whelen, late of Birch Hills, SK announce her passing on June 15, 2015 at the age of 99 years.  Lorna will be lovingly remembered by: her grandchildren: Shannon (Preston) Lepine, Russel Whelen and Melissa Whelen of Edmonton, AB; her great-grandchildren: Cam and Dylan Lepine; her sister in law: Vickie Bright; and the mother of her grandchildren: Shirley Jacobson.  Lorna was predeceased by: her husband: George Whelen; her son: Harold Whelen; her parents: William & Margaret Bright; her sisters: Florence (Bob) Paddock, Helen Jobe and Phyllis MacKay;  and her brother: Harold Bright.   Lorna grew up in the Birch Hills area and married her husband George in Melfort, SK on July 30, 1941.  She had a real love of gardening, and also enjoyed playing cards.  A Celebration of her Life will take place on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at 3:00 pm, Birch Hills Lutheran Church, Birch Hills, SK, officiated by Duane Mohn.  Arrangements in care of MacKenzie Chapel & Crematorium.  Brian and Bev Stobbs, Funeral Directors.  306.763.8488 www.MacKenzieChapel.ca
