John “Jack” Howick Burkitt passed away suddenly on Thursday, June 4, 2015 at the age of 68 years. He was the youngest of four children born to the late Fred and Marguerite Burkitt and was the beloved husband of Carla Anne Burkitt – together for 38 years. Jack will be forever remembered by his sisters, Kay and Ethel and brother, Leonard. He was devoted to his beloved children, son, Jordon and daughter, Julie; his son-in-law, Nathan and daughter-in-law, Tabitha, along with his most precious blessings, his grandchildren, Eden, Ada and Henry. Jack touched the lives of many other family and friends who were blessed to know him for his smile and generosity. He always maintained his trademark sense of humor and will be greatly missed by the entire florist community and all the children he had the pleasure of meeting on his bus route over the years. A Memorial Service to celebrate the life of Jack was held on Thursday, June 11, 2015 , at Red Deer Lake Community Centre,Calgary. Jack’s family has requested as an alternative to flowers that a donation be made to Tim Horton’s Children’s Foundation in honour of him.
