John Balicki, late of Prince Albert passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2015 at the age of 83 years. He was born in the Fir Ridge area on February 6, 1932. John grew up in the Henribourg area where he farmed along with working at various jobs until he started working at Western Grocers in Prince Albert. John worked at Western Grocers in PA until its closing and then worked at the Western Grocers in Regina until he suffered a brain aneurysm in 1991. John leaves to mourn his passing, his daughters Karen of Saskatoon and Terry of Prince Albert; sister Helen (Jim) Thompson of Saskatoon; brother Tony (Sally) Balicki of Kelowna, BC; brother-in-law Burke Liebrecht of Saskatoon; two sisters-in-law Doreen Balicki and Ann Liebrecht of Prince Albert; special coffee buddy Cindy Wojcichowsky of Prince Albert and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Joy Balicki; his parents Joseph and Sophie Balicki; brother Charlie Balicki; brother-in-law John Liebrecht and sister-in-law Bev Liebrecht. Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 13, 2015 at the Sacred Heart Cathedral, 1401 – 4th Avenue West, Prince Albert, SK with Celebrant Reverend Father Matthew Nguyen. Interment will be held at South Hill Cemetery. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to the Victoria Hospital Foundation, 1200 – 24th Street West, Prince Albert, SK S6V 6T4 or to the Canadian Diabetes Association, PO Box 12013, Stn BRM B, Toronto, ON M7Y 2L3.
