Rudolph Mazurkewich

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Rudolph Mazurkewich. Rudolph was born in the Kalyna district on July 31, 1916 and was raised there, finished elementary school before going to P.A.C.I. High School in Prince Albert. Due to the depression of the early 1930’s, Rudolph went back to help with the family farm. In 1950, he met and married Lena Kraska from Steep Creek and farmed in Meath Park area. Together they raised two children. Rudolph loved his family, friends, farming, school, sports and Saskatchewan – a true pioneer. In 1985, Rudolph and Lena retired from farming and settled in Prince Albert. Left to mourn his passing is his wife Lena of 64 years marriage; his two sons Barry (Diane nee Tremblay) of Calgary, AB and their children Teryn (Conner Cruson) and Todd; and Dale (Catalina Hinacay) of Calgary, AB and his children Donevan and Haley; his sister Ann Christman of St. Albert, AB; his sister-in-law Ann (Late Carl) Mazurkewich of Prince Albert; as well as other sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. Rudolph was predeceased by his parents Mike and Nellie (nee Stacey); six brothers Carl, Adam, Baby John, John, Walter and Albert; his sister Mary (Late Walter Krywicki); his sister-in-law Ann (Late Albert) Mazurkewich; his brother-in-law Richard Christman; as well as his father-in-law and mother-in-law Frank and Nettie Kraska. Rudolph’s family would like to thank the Birchview Staff for their compassionate care. Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at Gray’s Funeral Chapel, 575 – 28th Street West, Prince Albert, SK. Interment will be held at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to Birch Hills Auxiliary, Box 578, Birch Hills, SK S0J OGO.
