Mary Theresa Britz (nee Druhar) late of Prince Albert, SK passed away peacefully at Mont St. Joseph Special Care Home on Sunday, September 20, 2015 with family by her side. Mary was born on October 14, 1916 in Yugoslavia and soon thereafter in her teen years came to the USA. In her early 20’s she came to Canada and met Paul and soon thereafter they got married and started their family in Humboldt, SK. For a job they took on Paul’s Esso on the highway to Humboldt. In the late 1960’s they moved to Prince Albert to take on the family business, Pines Service, with her son Francis and his wife Betty and girls, which was located three miles north on highway # 2. After a few years Paul and Mary relocated to Bruno, SK as Paul was battling cancer. He lost his battle on November 14, 1976. Throughout the years she enjoyed being around family, her cat Kooky, gardening, crocheting, knitting and most of all PLAYING CARDS…she was a terrific card player…always the score keeper…and always the winner. In her early 90’s she acquired Alzheimer’s and life was just not the same…Mary, Grandma, Mom will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by daughter-in-law Betty (Francis) Britz; four grandchildren Shelly (Brad) Stubbs, Jackie (Mark) Sheppard, Holly (Ken) Kurysh and Bob Briet; two great-grandchildren Heather (Andrew) Hettrick and Daisha Briet; three great-great-grandchildren Ava Theresa, Emma Elizabeth Elna and Mya Dorothea as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Paul; her daughter and son-in-law Dolores (Leon) Briet and her son Francis. A special thank you to Dr. Surkan and all the staff at Mont St. Joseph Northern Shores for the care and attention that Mary received. A very special thank you to Father Michael for all his blessings and prayers. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Czestochowa Church – 160 – 12 Street East at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 10 by Father Michael Fahlman. Interment will take place at a later date in the St. Bruno Catholic Cemetery. It is the family`s request that in lieu of tributes, donations may be made to the Mont St. Joseph Special Care Home, 777 – 28 Street East, Prince Albert.
