Delbert Stephen Anderson passed away peacefully with family at his side on October 12, 2015. Del was born September 18, 1936 in Abbotsford BC, where he grew up with his 4 brothers and sisters and many cousins. He left home at age 16 and did many jobs while making his way across the country. His travels took him to Prince Albert, Saskatchewan where he met and married Bonnie Westmacott. They had 2 children, Corinne Lynn Delparte (Anderson) and Troy Lance Anderson. He started a printing business, Writeway Printing, with family in Prince Albert in the early 70’s. He loved being a business man and was an active part of the community for many years as a Kinsmen and Optimist. A diagnosis of MS changed what he was able to do but he continued to live life to its fullest extent. When he realized there was a need in the community, he founded Legs Unlimited, a non-profit organization that supplied motorized scooters and mobility products to those requiring them. This service was something to which he was very proud. His declining health took him to Luther Care home in Saskatoon where he was their longest resident of 15 years. The family wants to thank the amazing staff, Del was very happy with their loving care. He is survived by his children Corinne Lynn Delparte (John) and Troy Lance Anderson (Heather) and their children Robyn Gooler (Delparte) (Tyler Gooler), Jeremy Delparte (Kaila Bower) and Cole Anderson; his siblings Alberta Hemnes (Anderson), Bruce Anderson (Lola) and Kenneth Anderson (Pat); as well as many nieces and nephews. Del was predeceased by his parents Jonas Stephen Anderson and Elsie Irene Anderson (Walker); his sibling Nadine Ollenberger (Anderson); his brothers-in-law Roy Ollenberger and Jacob Hemnes; and his great-grandson TJ Gooler. The Memorial Service will be held at Luther Care Home (1212 Osler Street, Saskatoon) on Friday, October 16th at 2:00 p.m. all are welcome to come celebrate Del’s life. In lieu of flowers, donations to the MS Society of Canada, Saskatchewan division would be appreciated.
