It is with sadness to announce the passing of our brother and uncle, Mike Chalecki, of Prince Albert, SK on October 16, 2015. Mike is survived by his sisters, Ann Catte (Dennis); nephew Danny Catte; cousin Jim Chalecky (Sheila) and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Mary Chalecky. Mike was born February 16, 1929 in the district of Tarnopol, SK. He attended Cranberry SD School. He worked on the home farm for sometime. In 1950 he went to work for the railroad at Dodsland, SK. Then in 1957 he went to live in Winnipeg, MB where he worked various jobs in construction. In 1962 he returned to Tarnopol, SK and worked for the local farmers in the area. Mike went to Prince Albert in 1970 and worked for the Shell Gas Station from 1982 – 1994, until his retirement. He moved to Sherman Towers and made himself comfortable till the present time, when he became ill and spent the past few months in the Victoria Hospital. Mike faced many challenges that life presented to him in a courageous way and would overcome whatever came his way until the next hurdle. He had a deep faith in God and devoted his whole life to Jesus. He had a kind heart and always a big warm smile. His joy in life was attending Bible Studies and conventions and reading the scriptures. He loved driving his little Shadow car wherever he wanted to go. His heart was broken when he had to give it up and never got over that. To the nursing staff our deepest gratitude for your patience, caring and kindness during Mike’s stay in the hospital. The family would like to thank all the people who gave him rides to the meetings, conventions, brought him food, visited him over the years, took him to appointments and to the hospital when needed. Every act of kindness is greatly appreciated. Thank you all!
“Mike may you have Eternal peace and rest!”
