Harold Scharkowski, was born October 31, 1942 in Prince Albert, SK and passed away November 11, 2015 in LaRonge SK, at the age of 73 years.  Harold is loving remembered by his wife Amelia Scharkowski (nee Ross); his son Tim (Lillian) Scharkowski; grandchildren Marissa Scharkowski and Michael Scharkowski; step-children, Robert Ross, Anthony Ross, Jennifer Ross (Charlie Venne) and Daisy (Alec) Halkett; his special granddaughter Loretta Ross; his sister Hazel Steinthorson; niece Mary Lee Steinthorson; nephew Allen Steinthorson and close friends, Frank James Ross, Donald Ross, Thomas Ross and Gary Klughart.  Harold was predeceased by his parents Carl and Mary; brother Herbert Scharkowski; brother-in-law Norman Steinthorson and nephew Karl Steinthorson.  Harold lived the last 25 years in LaRonge, living his life in and around the lakes and northern wilderness that he loved so much.  Harold drove truck and taxi for a great time in LaRonge before retiring to enjoy the northern country.  Harold loved the north and being outdoors.  He enjoyed fishing, berry and mushroom picking, camping and in his younger years cross country skiing and skating.  Harold was an amazing cook and could whip up a meal out of anything on a little camp stove.  A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday November 17, 2015 at Kitsaki Hall in LaRonge, Saskatchewan.  In obeying Harold’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and a private family Interment will be held at a later date.
