Elsie Umpherville

Elsie passed away peacefully on November 12, 2015 at the age of 64. Elsie Anne Umpherville (Gervais) was born on February 3, 1951 in Meadow Lake, SK. She is predeceased by: her parents, John Baptiste Gervais and Marie Antoinette Lavallee; her brothers Lawrence and Willie; and her sister Gloria. She is survived by: her loving husband Glen Umpherville; daughter Tewana; son Glen; and daughter Tanya (Marc). Elsie had 10 grandchildren: Anthony (Bridget), Dylan, Troy, Shalaine, Bryce, Aidon, Brooke, Sydni, Deshon and Drey. She had one great grandchild, Carter and one on the way, due this February. Elsie is survived by her siblings: Lloyd (Shirley), Gordon (Darlene), Martin, Audrey (Ron), Raynie (Bev), Sylvia and Allan. Elsie will be remembered for her kindness and gentleness. She loved her family and lived to spend time with her grandchildren. One of her favourite things to do was play cards with her siblings and take their money. Elsie loved quilting and everyone wanted one of her special quilts. One of her goals was to make every family member a quilt and she just about succeeded. Although Mom was taken from us way too soon, there is comfort knowing that family in Heaven are now with her. There will be a prayer service at 7:00 p.m., Monday November 16, 2015 at River Park Memorial Chapel. Funeral Mass will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday November 17, 2015 at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church with Father Roque Concepcion officiating. Afterwards, there will be a lunch at East Hill Community Club. Elsie will be cremated and an internment will be held at a later date.
