Norah Audrey Mary Patterson completed her long and fruitful journey here on earth on Sunday, November 22nd, 2015, in the same manner in which she lived her last 86 years – with devoted love for her family, a steadfast faith in God, and quiet confidence in the knowledge she had lived each day to its fullest. She took great pleasure in caring for her many pets over the years, be they dogs, cats, chickens, or turkeys as she loved all God’s creatures. Her bird feeders were always alive with the chirping of the many wild birds that frequented her yard, along with the chattering of the squirrels that also enjoyed the feast of sunflowers she replenished on a twice daily basis. She was delighted when a small family of deer came to enjoy the birdseeds that had dropped beneath the feeders, and she soon had a special manger spread with hay and barley for their nourishment. Her love and appreciation for the beauty of God’s world knew no bounds, and she rejoiced in the changing of the seasons, looking forward in the spring and the autumn to witness the passage of flocks of wild geese and ducks, the first snowfall, and the first spring flowers. She will be greatly missed at family gatherings by her five children – Patricia (Edward Leson), Marie Callbeck, Robert (Shiela), Alice (Barry Torborg), and Herbert (Brenda); twelve grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. She will live on in the hearts of her sister, Patricia Young; Alfred’s sister, Marjorie (Arven Njaa), and the many special nieces and nephews who were so very dear to her. She willingly accepted and returned the love of each member of her family as a special gift to be cherished and nurtured. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Alfred; her parents, Burton and Alice Mabel Jobe; her brothers, Robert, James, Irvine, Thomas, Justus, and Herbert, and her two sisters, Alice (in infancy), and Ruby Neyedli. The Funeral Service will be held at the Cathedral Church of St. Alban the Martyr, 1410 Bishop McLean Crescent, Prince Albert, SK on Friday, November 27th, 2015, at 2:00 with the Right Reverend Michael Hawkins, Bishop of Saskatchewan, officiating. This summer there will be a private family interment of ashes in the family plot at St. Saviour’s Church, Birch Hills. Norah supported many charitable organizations over the years; we know she would appreciate your support of either St. Alban’s Church or the Rose Garden Hospice in honour of her memory.
“Well done, good and faithful servant…”
Matthew 25:21
