July 10, 1928 – December 9, 2015
Born to parents George and Nellie Potter, Doreen (Nellie) Pechey grew up during the Great Depression, living in Prince Albert, Saskatoon and Kerrobert. She married Norman (Bud) Pechey in 1949 and had two sons – Tim (1951 – 2000) and Ted. She has survived the heartache of losing a son, and fought two different types of cancer – which eventually ended her life. A HUGE thanks to her dear friends Yvonne Lipka, Gerry Thompson, Don and Simone Delorme and her son Ted – as well as the P.A. Parkland Home Care and Palliative Care Services – which made it possible for her to live in her own apartment to the very last minute of life. End of Life Service will be held at 200 p.m. on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at Wesley United Church, 65 – 11th Street East, Prince Albert, SK with Reverend Tony Thompson officiating. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to the local chapter of the Canadian Cancer Society, 54 – 11th Street East, Prince Albert, SK S6V 0Z9. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gray’s Funeral Chapel, (306-922-4729).
