Samson Sanderson was born on Friday, December 14, 1934, in Fox Point, Saskatchewan, and passed away on Sunday, December 13, 2015, in La Ronge, Saskatchewan, at the age of 80 years. He is survived by his loving family, his wife of 54 years, Amelia (nee Bird) Sanderson, his sons, Phillip Sanderson, Tom (Tina) Sanderson and Marvin (Cheryl) Sanderson, his daughters, Audrey Sanderson-McCallum, Annie (Phillip) Sanderson and Bella Sanderson, his special granddaughter, Janice (Tom) Cook, his grandchildren, William McCallum, Alicia (Richard Roberts) Sanderson, Sam Sanderson, Marie (Mike) Sanderson, Carrie Sanderson, Marvin Sanderson and Casey Sanderson, his great-grandchildren, Gabby Cook, Chloe Cook, Marsha Roberts-Sanderson, Kayla Roberts-Sanderson, Harmony Powder-McCallum and Faith McKenzie-McCallum, his godchildren, Travis Sanderson and Janice Sanderson, his brother, Chris (Mary Ann) Thimpsen, his sister, Vicky (Hubert) Sanderson, his brother-in-law, Noah Bird, and his sister-in-law, Nora Sanderson. He was predeceased by his parents, Abel and Nancy (Nee Eninew) Sanderson, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Walter and Annie Bird, his brothers, Henry (Irene) Sanderson and Miles Sanderson, his sister, Susan Keighley, his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Lydia Roberts, Maggie Bird, Edgar and Ida Venne, Cathy and Colin Charles, Myles and Mary Venne, George and Flora Venne, Moses and Mary Bird, Thompson and Nora Venne and Angelique Halkett, his special son-in-law, Lawrence McCallum, his nephews, Jonas Roberts, Moses Roberts, Harry Charles, Walter Bird, Roger Bird and John Kinch, and his nieces, Alice Charles, Angie McDonald, Candace Neilson and Bobby Keighley. A wake will be held at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 15, 2015, at Kitsaki Hall in La Ronge, Saskatchewan. His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 16, 2015, at the All Saints Anglican Church in La Ronge, Saskatchewan, Rt. Rev. Bishop Charles Arthurson officiating. Interment will follow at the Anglican Church Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to River Park Memorial Chapel, Prince Albert, Don Moriarty, funeral director, and Lac La Ronge Funeral Home, Debra Klassen, funeral director.
