Kathy Alexander was born April 23, 1954 in Prince Albert SK. and passed away suddenly at home on December 25, 2015 in Holbein SK. Kathy’s earlier school years were spent at W.P Sandin in Shellbrook, SK, she took several years off to help raise her younger siblings. She held many odd jobs throughout the years as well as several courses including her GED and Clerk Typist. Then bravely at the age of 28 went back to university working towards her B. of ED. from Sept 1982-1987.After graduation Kathy started her career at Sandy Lake Ahtahkakoop School. Throughout the years she worked with several different age group from the Reading Readiness group right up till Grade 5 and loved every one of them. She retired from teaching in 2013 but Kathy found herself missing her work with children so she started work part time at Wild Rose school in the Before and After School Program. Kathy enjoyed many activities including quilting both by herself and with her quilting clubs. Her paintings are a prized possession for those lucky enough to get one as a gift. Spending time camping at the lake was always a favorite summer pastime as well a backyard BBQ with the family. Even though Kathy enjoyed her work and hobbies her love was the family. She gave her whole heart to nieces, nephews, brothers, sisters, cousins and numerous friends who touched her life. Kathy will be lovingly remembered by her siblings Edwin (Phyllis) Alexander, Darwin (Kathy) Alexander, Adrienne Alexander, Kimberley (Lonney) MacDonald, Renee Alexander, Nicole Alexander, Alyshia (Devin) Hind and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was predeceased by her father James “Al” Alexander, mother Marion Alexander, nephews Sean and Zachery Alexander. Memorial Service for Kathy will be held at 1:00pm on Wednesday January 6, 2016 at the Shellbrook Pentecostal Church with Pastor Dave Bodvarson officiating. In lieu of tributes, memorial donations may be directed to the Wild Rose North Cemetery or to the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Saskatchewan.
