James Buchanan

James (Jim) William Buchanan, age 75, passed away on Saturday January 9, 2016 at the Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. Jim was born January 31st 1940 in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan to his parents James and Peg Buchanan. He grew up with his three sisters on the Buchanan Family Farm, where Buchanan Drive is currently located. Growing up, Jim enjoyed hunting geese and ducks with his father, James. He graduated from P.A.C.I and soon after began his career as an Equipment Operator in Saskatchewan and then onto Alberta. While working, Jim met many people and created lifelong friendships. He returned to Prince Albert to begin his retirement and took up numerous hobbies. Jim spent time with his nephews and friends hunting and fishing. He also was a talented woodworker, creating several pieces of art that he shared with his family and friends. Jim will always be remembered for his sense of humour and witty remarks. Jim is survived by his sisters Fern (Larry) Slater and Barb (Bob) McLeod; his nephews and nieces Larry (Bev) Slater, Kerry (Darlene) Slater, Randy (Louise) Slater, Pamela Soloducha (Kirk Mitchell), Carolyn Soloducha (Gerald Stevenson), Patricia Soloducha (Shaun Stewart) and Priscilla (Erwin) Hanley; along with numerous great nieces and nephews.Jim is predeceased by his parents James and Marjourie (Peg) Buchanan; and his sister and brother-in- law Jessie and Peter Soloducha.
