Marlene Agnes KYLE
December 18, 1936 – March 19, 2016
It is with deep sadness that the family of Marlene Kyle, age 79 of Prince Albert, announce her passing on Saturday, March 19th after many difficult health battles. She leaves to mourn her loving children, Randy Kyle of Saskatoon, Lance Kyle (Shelley) of Saskatoon and daughter Carrie Hazelwood (Doug) of rural Prince Albert; sister Rhoda Charmbury of Alberta and sister-in-law Betty Oertel of Saskatoon; 9 grandchildren, Devin Kyle (Tania), Tara Kyle (Jason), James Kyle, Alex Kyle, Mitchell Kyle, Rebbecca Kyle, Emma Hazelwood, Grace Hazelwood and Daniel Hazelwood; 8 great grandchildren, Daggon Kyle, Josh Kyle, David Desjardins, Leah Kyle, Cole Kyle, Sean Kyle, Layne Kyle and Nicolas Kyle. Marlene was predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Murray Kyle; her brothers Eldon Hamilton and Delbert Hamilton and her brother-in-law Otto Oertel. Marlene was born and raised in Star City, SK. She married Murray in 1957 and they began a life filled with friends, family and adventures. Early on Marlene worked as a telephone operator. While “at telephones” she developed many close friendships which carried on until her passing. After her family was grown she then went to work as a cake baker/decorator in the bakery at Hunts IGA. There were other jobs along the way but none were as important to her as wife, mother and grandmother. Together her and Murray enjoyed gardening, flea markets, summers at Candle Lake and the close relationships they made with friends and neighbors. The house on 7th street was always full of activity and the door was always open no matter who you were. A kind smile, a warm hug, or always having a place for someone extra at her table was just who she was. The last few years were hard for mom but she never complained and she always kept busy. She enjoyed going to aqua size, meeting with friends once a month for pot lucks, lunching out, and her almost daily routine of going for coffee with the good friends she made while living at Connaught Village. At Marlene’s request, a private family service will be held with interment to take place at a later date. It is the request of the family that those wanting to place memorials do so to the Canadian Cancer Society, 54 – 11th Street East, Prince Albert, SK S6V 0Z9. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gray’s Funeral Chapel, (306-922-4729).
