Vern Kenneth Horner

August 14, 1952 – March 23, 2016

With sadness filling their hearts the family of Vern Horner announce that he passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at the age of 63 years.

The Wake Services for Vern commenced on Friday, March 25, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. from the Muskeg Lake Cree Nation Gym. The Funeral Service took place on Saturday, March 26, 2016 at 11:00 am from the Muskeg Lake Cree Nation Gym. Father Tuyen Vu was the officiant.

Vern will always be remembered by: his wife Melinda Horner (nee Ledoux); his sons Brody and Braeden Horner; his stepchildren Damian Ledoux and Jaime Ledoux; his grandchildren Kacie Crain (Brody), Madison, Jaida, Sadie, Damian Jr., Emma (Damian), Ethan and Selena (Jaime); his uncles Richard (Georgina) Greyeyes and Frankie (Virginia) Greyeyes; his aunt Helen Skobalski of Abbotsford, BC; his God-child Shirley “Beatle” Greyeyes-McDonald as well as numerous cousins, extended family and friends.

Vern was predeceased by: his step son Bruce Ledoux; his mother Flora Greyeyes; his aunts Selena Arcand, Josephine Greyeyes, Esther Mowat, Rita Isbister and Antoinette Moreau as well as his uncles Ralph Greyeyes and Andrew Greyeyes.

The pallbearers were Kenny Greyeyes, Frank “Haywire” Greyeyes, Floyd Greyeyes, Dennis Greyeyes, Dana “Chop” Greyeyes and Warren “Bones” Greyeyes
