Alice Franklin

Alice Franklin (Banks) passed away peacefully in the Spruce Manor Special Care Home in Dalmeny, SK on April 1st, 2016. Alice is survived by her children: daughter Helen (Ian), and sons Paul, Eric (Myrna) and Dell (Tracey); twelve grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and brothers: George and Bill (Carolynn). Alice was predeceased by her husband: Lester; son: Greg; grandson: Brett and her siblings: Ruth, Dora, Hilda, Leslie and Oswald. Alice was born on March 14th, 1927 in Brancepeth, SK to Lillian and Richard Banks. Alice married Lester Franklin on November 3rd, 1948 and raised their children living on the family farm in Birch Hills. In 1978 Alice and Lester moved back into town and Alice remained in her home in Birch Hills until 2013 when she moved to Saskatoon. Alice enjoyed curling, golfing, baking, knitting and spending time with her family. Funeral service will be held Saturday April 9th, 2016 at 2:00 pm at the Anglican Church in Birch Hills, SK. In lieu of other tributes, donations in memory of Alice may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 54 – 11th St E, Prince Albert, SK. Arrangements in care of MacKenzie Chapel & Crematorium.
