Laverne Delphine Bird

May 13, 1964 – April 8, 2016

With great sadness the family of Laverne Delphine Bird announce that she passed away on April 8, 2016 in Chetwynd, BC. She passed away peacefully with her family at her side. Laverne was born in Prince Albert, SK on May 13, 1964 to Justin and Theresa Scott.

Laverne will be lovingly remembered by: her children – Courtney Bird, Conway Scott (Karen) , Brandon Bird, Blake Bird, Michael Horsefall (Leona), and Matthew Lafond; her siblings – Adrienne Genereaux, Angie Scott (Dennis), Deanna Scott, Russel Scott (Candace), Travis Micha (Angela), Curtis Moosehunter (Lanette), Darwin Moosehunter, Dion Moosehunter and Justin Scott; her grandchildren – Dominick Scott, Keilan Joseph, Sebastian Horsefall, Michael Horsefall and Bailey Horsefall; her uncle John George Scott (Helen Starchief). Laverne is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

Laverne is predeceased by: her husband Greg Bird; her parents Theresa and Justin Scott; her parents-in-law Jimmy and Laura Bird.

Honourary pallbearers are all her family, friends, inlaws, nine buddies and everyone who knew and loved Laverne.

Pallbearers are all of her nephews.

The wake service for Laverne began at the family home on Mistawasis First Nation at 5:00AM on Sunday April 10, 2016 and will move to the Mistawasis family Centre on Monday April 11, 2016.

The funeral service for Laverne will commence at 2:00PM on Tuesday April 12, 2016 at the Mistawasis Family Centre. Interment will follow in the Mistawasis Presbyterian Cemetery.
