James Leonard Douglas “Doug” Hogan
January 15, 1928 – May 2, 2016 Doug Hogan passed away at his residence at Sunset Bay, Emma Lake, SK on Monday, May 2, 2016 at the age of 88 years. He was born on January 15, 1928 in Meacham, SK to Ben and Aurore Hogan. Doug had four siblings; Jeanine (Gerry) Davidson, Rita (Bud) Smith, Bernard (Verna) Hogan and Lionel (Elinor) Hogan. Doug worked as a salesman most of his life. He resided in Saskatoon, Prince Albert and for the past 24 years at Emma Lake, SK. As a young man he loved to hunt and fish, but in later years preferred to watch the wildlife from his residence at Emma Lake, particularly the deer and birds. He also enjoyed the game of curling. Doug is survived by his wife Patricia (Evans) Hogan of Emma Lake; his children Linda Johnston, Hal Hogan, Leita (David) Koontz, Douglas (Jr) (Judy) Hogan and stepdaughter Peggy (Albert) Roy; Doug and Pat’s 2 children Caroline Hogan Newberry and Kelly (Gina) Hogan; his grandchildren Chris, Chad, Karen, Tracey, Caitlin, Kayla, Lucas, Meghan, Abbey, Lily, Niamh, Zoe, Ryder, Meike, Larry Paul, James and Mark; numerous great grandchildren; his sister Rita; his brother Lionel; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Ben and Aurore Hogan; his sister Jeanine; his brother Bernard; as well as numerous pets. Thank you to friends at Sunset Bay who came and visited often. A Private Family Service will be held at a later date. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to a Charity of Donor’s Choice. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca.
