Michael “Mike” James BADIUK, born February 16th, 1957 in Tisdale passed away peacefully on May 26th in Prince Albert. Mike will be incredibly missed by wife Jane; his two daughters, Michelle (Brandon) and Kim; father John Badiuk; siblings Judy, Patty (Jim), Robert (Teri); adopted sister Deb; sisters-in-law Cindy and Debbie (Lawrence); pets Marley, Jinxy and Ziggy, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins whom he greatly loved. He was predeceased by his mother Kay Badiuk; mother and father-in-law, Vivian and George Turner; and stepdaughter Megan Pocha. Mike began his career with Saskpower following high school and always looked forward to getting together with his Saskpower friends for hockey, golfing and curling. Mike was particularly proud of his role in coordinating teams throughout North America for the lineman’s rodeo. After retirement, he fulfilled his lifelong dream to captain his own pontoon boat at Candle Lake. Mike and Jane loved to travel to Nova Scotia, Las Vegas and an annual winter holiday to somewhere warm. Mike loved cheering on the Montreal Canadiens and made sure to have a new jersey for every Roughrider game. Mike will be forever remembered for his big heart, his easy-going nature and his immeasurable love for family, friends and barbecue ribs. The celebration of life will take place on Tuesday, May 31st at 10:00 am at Prince Albert Alliance Church, 2777 – 6th Avenue West, Prince Albert, SK with Pastor Dennis Serfas officiating. Interment will be held following the lunch at the Tisdale Cemetery. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to the Prince Albert S.P.C.A., PO Box 1832, Prince Albert, SK S6V 6J9 or to the Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan, 301 – 2550 – 12th Avenue, Regina, SK S4P 3X1.
